Typography between illustration and art
Typografie stellt für viele Künstler ein schöpferisches Spannungsfeld dar. Wieviel Aussagekraft steckt in einem Buchstaben, in einem Wort, in einem Satz, wenn diese an sich höchst kommunikativen Einheiten bild- oder objekthaft inszeniert werden? Wie reagiert eine typografische Information auf ihr Umfeld, auf grafische Ergänzung, Dekonstruktion oder visuelle Umkehrung?
Kuratiert von Slanted bündelt die im Sommer 2012 erscheinende Publikation „bright! – Typography between Illustration & Art“ eine eindrucksvolle Auswahl an künstlerischen Projekten, bei denen Schrift zum Kernpunkt der Arbeit geworden ist. Kulturell verankerte oder progressiv treibende ästhetische Dimensionen dieser typografischen Auseinandersetzung reflektieren die Vielschichtigkeit der einzelnen Disziplinen zwischen Illustration und Kunst.

We are very happy to announce the call for entries for POLADARIUM 2013! It would be fantastic if you would submit your instant photos and be part of POLADARIUM! Any photographer is invited to contribute to this project. Submission has to be an original scan of an instant photo made with a Polaroid SX-70 or 600 camera.

POLADARIUM is a tear-off calendar, just like the one our grandma used to hang in the kitchen. But this calendar unveils a new image/polaroid photography and its story every day. We can therefore have, a whole year long, the chance to discover photographers, to possess a piece of jewellery that is new everyday. On the front, the picture will be prominently displayed, and on the back it will tell a story. How it originated, from what or who came the inspiration and who‘s the photographer.
