Pareidolia Astonishing!!
When I paint or sketch, I let myself be guided by intuition solely. These characters actually “jumped” at me when I looked at the tiles in our guest toilet.Only a few quick scribbles were needed to outline and develop the rough shapes, to which I added just a few details and texture until their “essence” began to emerge.

Here’s a bit of insight into my working process: Usually I start with an ink pen, creating a rough outline and roughly defining light and shadow and filling in the basic colours …

The finished artwork after adding more watercolour and refining the sketch layering coloured pencil on top for the final details. This technique is referred to a “drainting” (by Felix Scheinberger) — combining drawing and painting, and it’s my preferred method.

Thank you for Watching
This was just for fun! I wanted to try out something new, and well — I did! Thank you so much for spending some time with me and my creations. If you like what you see, please consider working with me. I want to make you smile 🙂
“Everything I draw smiles”
Hello! I’m Andrea,
an architect and see-taught illustrator and surface pattern designer. I draw passionately and plenty, filling sketchbook after sketchbook with ink and watercolor.
My preferred style is loose and spontaneous, but with an eye for the essentials. This is how I give my creatures character and a certain sense of humor.
Many of my analogue sketches I then transfer into Procreate or Photoshop, where I further process them digitally. It is important to me that they remain true to their authentic and “handmade” appearance which is why I make the corresponding brushes, backgrounds and textures myself, thereby making second use of the “happy accidents” of my sketchbooks.
I can hardly wait to bring your ideas and concepts to life!
